Check on the web or in the phone book to see if they have Legal Aid in your area. They are usually free or might charge a really low fee. The only thing is, be prepared to move in long lines. Go primeval as doable or ask them on the phone what’s the ideal way to expedite things. Good luck.

Why do you expect people to work for free?
Legal aid or mediation. Your husband needs to have some rules and laws explained to him.

Several of them will offer free consultations, and one offers a free divorce to one person each Valentine’s Day, but you’ll be hard-pressed to find a free divorce lawyer. You could try the law school at University of West Virginia or some such place. I’d go for the consultation, at least, and any attorney would probably let you pay him back on time installments, maybe even get you awarded alimony. Whatever, since there is disagreement, don’t go in WITHOUT an attorney. Total up the bills; that’s one question they’re going to ask.
